If you can, try to find someone who also play soccer and work on your simple passes and traps (controlling and settling). The more you work on your passes and traps, the better you will become. Most beginners will probably laugh that off, saying how easy that will be. But what those beginners don’t know is that being able to effectively pass and trap take lots of practices. I can’t emphasize enough that being able to pass the ball accurately to your own players’ feet is very important. Being able to control the ball at your feet is even more important. It’s the difference between possessing and losing a ball.

Dribbling—>most basic drill is to line cones in a straigh line and try dribbling in and out around them, using both feet or alternating between your left and right foot. Try to think of the cones as other soccer players who are trying to steal the ball from your feet, meaning don’t touch the cones as you manuever in and out of them–not with the ball or your feet. The more you do this the better and faster you will be when in a real situation–your handling and touching of the ball will be awesome over time!

Shooting—->Shoot from different angles and within the penalty box first before going out any further is always a good idea when learning how to shoot. Learn to put the ball at the corners, never in the middle — your penalty and free kicks will come easier later on if you stick with the basics first. Always the basics first…always.

Fitness—>agility, stamina and speed trainings are the three things you will need as you go further into the sport. They’ll also come as you practice more and more. Remember that each position on the pitch requires different method of training. Example–a midfielder requires the most stamina and accurate passings of the ball, a striker requires lots of burst of speed, shooting, ball control, and headings of the ball skills, a defender requires a visual awareness of his/her players at all time and must become the best at their tackling skills, never over-commiting, etc, etc.
